Exploring Social Institutions, Music’s Societal Impact, and Food Security
My OpenLab portfolio showcases three interconnected projects that explore vital aspects of our society: education, music, and food security. The Social Institutions & Inequalities project delves into educational disparities, employing sociological theories to understand and propose solutions for these issues. The Societal Impact of Soft Rock Music project examines the emotional and cultural significance of soft rock, including a creative component that conceptualizes an album cover representing the genre's dynamic nature. The Governmental Policy and Food Security project analyzes the role of government policies in ensuring food security, with a detailed case study on food availability and public transportation in two Florida zip codes. Together, these projects reflect a comprehensive exploration of how social institutions, cultural elements, and policy frameworks shape our society and impact individual lives.
